FTR, I believe that in this universe, Susie Derkins is the high-ranking agency accountant who of her own accord harasses Calvin about his reckless and indefensible expenditures vis a vis blowing every-fucking-thing up. Hobbes was in on it, too, Calvin protests. Tell her about that thing you did with the rocket launcher, Hobbes— But Hobbes always did have a vested interest in looking presentable around Susie, so he lets Calvin take the rap and in fact eggs Susie on (not that she needs any egging on; when Susie gets on a roll, she just keeps going).

There are times when Agent Derkins suspects she is the only thing keeping the agency afloat. You can’t just blow up every inconvenience, Calvin. Otherwise she’d have blown him up years ago.
